After being asked to create a Memorial Trophy for the Pekingese Club of NJ Specialty Show in Edison, NJ, it only made sense for me to hand-carve a Sterling pendant of this beautiful dog breed. The Pekingese is similar to the Pug in that they are both brachycephalic breeds, meaning they have smooshed in faces. They are both in the Toy Group, the smallest of the 7 groups of dogs…they both shed profusely…but yet they are so different! All that hair on the Peke!!!! I will never look at the Pekingese in the same way again. It was a fun breed to work on.
