“Alison” Hand-Woven Neck Chain

When is a chain more than just a “rope of metal” you put around your neck to hang your pendants and charms on?  Chances are you purchased a chain for a particular pendant, and guess what? The pendant gets noticed and the chain just hangs in the background. I can bet that If you look in your jewelry box, you have more than 1 chain in there. You might have a few in a cool, white metal like sterling or white gold and probably a few in a warm, yellow metal like gold. We all have them. These chains are usually nothing exciting.

So when is a chain more than a chain? The answer is when you have a hand-woven chain. My hand-woven chains can certainly can be worn with pendants or charms, if you choose, but nothing is needed to bring out their beauty. They can stand alone with no effort and usually become the main feature. 

I have recently become obsessed with a very contemporary, open weave that I have decided to call, “The Alison”.  This weave is so flexible and has so many design options which is what inspires me as a jeweler. “The Alison” has clean, modern lines, but more importantly, it lays perfectly flat on the neck which is very exciting to me. Because of this, pendants and charms can easily be attached without the chain twisting around. This really shows off the design of the weave in any length.
